Ellison Center Positions

There are 2 great opportunities to enhance your resume, to earn some money and to assist the REECAS program/Ellison Center. We have 2 positions available for next year: REECAS Newsletter Editor and Special Projects Assistant (each up to 19 hours a week).  Those interested should submit a resume and cover letter to me by April 30th, indicating for which position you are applying (requesting consideration for both is encouraged).

EDITOR:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Solicit and edit articles for newsletter from faculty and outside sources; format and post content for online publication using Drupal content management system. Assist with Treadgold Papers as needed and complete additional office projects, as time allows.

Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent grammar, editing and writing skills required. Ability to work accurately and independently; to meet deadlines; and to interact with writers in a professional manner a must. Knowledge of the REECAS area and at least one of the relevant languages.  Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Drupal a plus.

Educational Benefits:
Enhance knowledge of the field, refinement of editing and publishing skills.

SPECIAL PROJECTS:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Help in developing and maintaining the Ellison Center website and online presence. Assist with the development and maintenance of center databases, reports, queries and pages (for center website). Perform general office duties (mail, phone, copies, etc) and help Assistant Director for Outreach with outreach activities and the spring REECAS NW Conference. Develop content for web and produce summaries of events, create and distribute flyers (via campus mail) and post materials on the web.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to handle multiple assignments, to adhere to deadlines and to work with basic computer programs, including ACCESS and EXCEL. Basic InDesign, Publisher, social media and web maintenance experience preferred.

Educational Benefits:

Enhance knowledge of the field and its study at the K-12 level; develop events planning and communication skills.

You must be a US citizen and able to commit to the full academic year (Fall-Spring). The salary is commensurate with experience (between $12-15/hr).
