The Facility Administrator for Center for Discovery is currently searching for a skilled counselor to fill an open Overnight Milieu Counselor position. The shifts are Friday and Saturday, 12am-8am. OVERNIGHT RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR FOR ADOLESCENT EATING DISORDER PROGRAM:
Center for Discovery is a residential program in a serene and confidential location for adolescents struggling with anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorders. Center for Discovery provides a tranquil setting for healing where adolescents can safely and effectively address their issues and begin their path to recovery. We believe that recovery from an eating disorder is possible, and our staff is deeply committed to the healing and well-being of adolescents who struggle with eating disorders.
The Overnight Counselor is responsible for assisting and supporting residents through the entire treatment experience from admission through discharge. The overnight counselor is responsible for communicating their observation and insight to the treatment team to ensure that the team is comprehensively addressing each adolescent’s particular issues. The Counselor introduces each new resident to his/her fellow residents and the treatment staff, and orients each resident to the rules, expectations, and routine of the daily treatment schedule. The overnight counselor is additionally responsible for assisting clients with the recovery process by helping residents prepare for bed & get ready in the morning, assisting with any client needs/issues that arise during the night, participating in therapeutic meals, problem solving, and keeping clients focused on recovery/treatment. Overnight responsibilities also include light housekeeping and filing. This is an “awake”position.
We seek the following traits:
· Someone who is warm and empathetic with knowledge of and ability to set and maintain boundaries and treatment structure.
· Someone with experience or aspiration to work in the field of psychology.
· A team player, who takes initiative, understands crisis management and can implement treatment team interventions.
· A bachelors degree
· A masters degree is preferred (or masters degree in progress)
- Managing the treatment milieu

- Collaboration with other treatment team professionals
We have one part-time position open. The shifts are Friday and Saturday, 12am-8am. There will also be opportunities to fill in for other shifts and be on-call for day or early evening shifts, if desired.
