Tutoring Job for Recent Grads

TUTORS WANTED – Math/Science, Writing/Study Skills, Foreign Language (Seattle)

Established education firm located in Madison Park, near the Arboretum, seeks experienced tutors with strong interpersonal skills, academic expertise, and breadth, who are able to tutor in the following areas:

WRITING, STUDY SKILLS, and Language TUTORS
Requires tutoring or teaching experience in the following subject areas:

• Writing development
• Reading comprehension
• Study skills, time management and test prep
• Organizational support for homework management
• Basic skills, including math through Algebra
• Spanish, French and/or Mandarin for middle school and high school
• Verbal SAT and ISEE test prep is a plus
• Experience with college-bound students with diagnosed learning differences and/or ADHD is a plus
• Experience with elementary, middle school and/or high school students

ADVANCED MATH & SCIENCE TUTORS
Requires tutoring or teaching experience for rigorous high school college prep in the following subject areas:

• Math through Calculus
• Physics
• Biology and/or Chemistry
• Ability to teach study skills and test prep for math and science classes
• Math SAT test prep is a plus
• Ability to tutor Spanish, French and/or Mandarin for middle school & high school is a plus but not required

REQUIREMENTS:
4-year degree, preference for master’s degree or graduate students
Two or more years of professional tutoring or teaching experience
Excellent communication skills and creative learning strategies
Flexible day time and evening hours M-F, weekend availability is a plus
Opportunities to work in Seattle and/or the Eastside (reliable transportation required)
Start summer and continue through the 2013-2014 school year
Please note: this is not a summer only position

Pay: $20/hour, part-time contract work, to begin immediately and continue through the 2013-2014 school year
