Speaker’s Bio: Jordan Gans-Morse is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Northwestern University. His current research examines the political foundations of property rights in post-communist countries. He has additionally published articles on clientelism, economic reforms, and democratic transitions. His recent publications have appeared in theAmerican Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, Post-Soviet Affairs, and Studies in International Comparative Development. Although his primary regional expertise is the former Soviet Union, he also conducts research on Central-Eastern Europe and Latin America. He received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in 2011, and his dissertation “Building Property Rights: Capitalists and Demand for the Rule of Law in Russia” won the Ernst B. Haas Award for Best Dissertation on European Politics and Society.
