Alene Moris National Education for Women’s Leadership Institute

Women are underrepresented in leadership, and that gap starts during college. Let’s change that!

The 2015 Alene Moris NEW Leadership Institute offers training for young women on how to become better leaders and to increase women’s representation in the non-profit, private, and public sector. Program curriculum covers a variety of important topics, including training on public speaking, policy analysis, negotiation, diversity management, running for political office, and fundraising. Participants in this Institute are connected with prominent women leaders in Washington and are invited to join an exciting network of current and future leaders.

The Alene Moris National Education for Women’s Leadership Institute is an intensive six-day program open to undergraduate and graduate women attending two-year or four-year institutions in the state or to those who are enrolled out-of-state with residency in Washington.

The Alene Moris NEW Leadership Institute is part of a network of similar programs that are held in 23 states across the country. The program was started by the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University in 1991.
