Urban Environmental Justice in a Time of Climate Change Symposium

UW Sociology graduate student, Tim Thomas, and one of your favorite sociology professors, Dr. Hedy Lee, have organized this exciting upcoming symposium titled Urban Environmental Justice in a Time of Climate Change!

In partnership with the Climate Impacts Group, Urban@UW welcomes you to join us in a symposium to expand university-wide engagement with the complex issues of environmental and climate justice in the context of urbanization.

Come discuss how communities are drawing on environmental and climate science alongside social sciences to advocate for justice, how human and environmental health are linked in a just city, and how we bring these issues to our classrooms and academic communities.

  • When: Monday, November 7 from 10am-5pm and Tuesday November 8 from 10am-5pm with the Walker Ames Lecture by Jacqueline Patterson at 7:30 pm in Kane Hall (RSVP required)
