BUSINESS INDIA: Indian Society and Organizations in 21st century

  • Led by: Abhinav Gupta, Management & Organization
  • Dates: Aug 26-Sept 17, 2018 | Cost: $5,150 | Course: MGMT 490 or JSIS 394
  • This new India Exploration Seminar focuses on Corporate Social Responsibility which will visit multiple cities in India. The Indian subcontinent presents numerous opportunities for students to immerse themselves in its centuries’ old culture, traditions and economy. This course is uniquely situated at the intersection of business and society to allow students to explore how the organization of society and markets takes place in a context that is drastically different from the US in multiple ways. The program will visit more than 5 different cities in India including Mumbai and Delhi as well as the Himalayas.
  • Credits, housing, in-country transportation, program activities and all meals are included in the program fee.
  • No prerequisite, program conducted in English, open to all majors

BUSINESS CHINA: Comparing and Contrasting the Fastest-Growing Economy under Two Systems

  • Led by: Shaosong Ou, Information Systems & Operations Management
  • Dates: Aug 20-Sept 9, 2018 | Cost: $4,500 | Course: IBUS 490 or JSIS 394
  • This program focuses on the world’s fastest growing economy, China, and it’s rival cross the strait, Taiwan. Students will learn how the use of information and mobile technologies, e.g. smartphones and mobile payment methods, change the way people manage businesses and conduct transactions in China and Taiwan. Being the political, cultural and economic centers of the two Chinese systems, Taipei, Beijing and Shanghai provide a great venue to experience and study business in China.
  • Credits, housing, in-country transportation, program activities and most meals are included in the program fee.
  • No prerequisite, program conducted in English, open to all majors
