Let’s Talk – Drop-In Counseling

What is Let’s Talk?

Let’s Talk is a program that connects UW students with support from experienced counselors from the Counseling Center and Hall Health Center without an appointment.  Let’s Talk is a drop-in service where students can have an informal consultation with a counselor from time to time. Let’s Talk offers informal consultation – it is not a substitute for regular therapy, counseling, or psychiatric care, but is a great option for students who may have a difficult time getting to Hall Health Mental Health or the Counseling Center, but would benefit from a consultation with mental health practitioners.

Let’s Talk drop-in visits are:

  • Free
  • Confidential
  • No appointment necessary

Is Let’s Talk the right choice for me?

There is no wrong reason to seek counseling through Let’s Talk, the Counseling Center, or Hall Health Center. However, Let’s Talk is an especially good fit for students who:

  1. Are not sure about counseling and wonder what it’s like to talk with a counselor
  2. Are not interested in ongoing counseling but would like the perspective of a counselor
  3. Have a specific problem and would like someone with whom to talk it through
  4. Have a concern about a friend and want some thoughts about what to do
