Sociology in Italy – Study Abroad Spring 2019

With all the study abroad information yesterday, I thought I’d save this particular gem for it’s own day.

Each Spring Quarter, the Sociology Department, hosts a study abroad program through the UW Rome Center that gives students the opportunity to apply a sociological perspective to understanding the development of the Christian Church over time, all while living in and exploring The Eternal City (not to mention the 15 Sociology credits students will earn!). This historical emphasis is balanced by hands-on experience working in a refugee center, where students learn how contemporary Italy is dealing with the current migrant crisis.

Interested (you should be!)? There will be an information session about the program on Friday, 09 November, 12:30pm-1:30pm, in Savery 245. Program Director Prof. Susan Pitchford will be there to tell you more about the program and answer any question you may have.

Keep in mind – the APPLICATION DEADLINE is Thursday, 15 November! If you have any questions, visit the program website or email Prof. Pitchford or TA Erin Carll
