Welcome to the Post-Daylight Savings Time part of the quarter, when sunrise takes place around noon and sunset approximately 17 minutes later.* As you make your way through the darkness, we wanted to spotlight (HA – pun) a few posts from last week, as well as remind you about important campus events this week
- Course Previews. Need some guidance picking courses? Take a look at some of the courses we’ve highlighted, as well as the full Sociology Department time schedule. - Be The Match. The wonderful event is finally here – in fact, it’s TONIGHT! Join The Whole U and expert panelists, including our own Prof. Alexes Harris, in exploring the role race plays in medicine and the essential need for multiethnic donors and donors of color worldwide. The event include a free screening of Mixed Match, followed by a panel discussion. November 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the HUB South Ballroom. - Study Abroad Week. The Study Abroad Office is hosting a series of events THIS WEEK to provide an opportunity for students to explore international study and internship opportunities, learn about funding options, and connect with study abroad alumni. Events include a Study Abroad Mixer (Tuesday, 06 Nov), “Remixing Your Reality” with Blake Brandes (Wednesday, 07 Nov), and the Study Abroad Fair (Thursday, 08 November). - Sociology in Italy. The Sociology Department has a special 1-quarter study abroad program in Rome.
