Even during the short 4-day week, the UW Career and Internship Center is offering several workshops to help make your career planning easier. Here’s a few of the most relevant events on the calendar for next week:
- Pre-Health Drop-in Coaching. Considering a graduate program in one of the many health fields? This is a great opportunity to drop in and get some advice on which programs are right for you, how to apply, and the utility of a gap year. Tuesday, 13 November, 1pm-4pm.
- Transfer Student Small Group Coaching. This small group career coaching session, tailored for transfer students, provides an opportunity to meet with a career counselor and interact with your peers while thinking about things like potential jobs, what to expect in interviews, and how to translate your skills from education to career. Registration required. Transfer Commons – HUB 141, Thursday, 15 November, 10:30am-11:30am.
- Small Group Coaching – Transferring Your Skills in the Social Sciences, Have you ever been asked, “Well, what can you do with a sociology degree?” and struggled to come up with an answer? Then this is the event for you! Join this small group coaching session to learn about how to use the knowledge and skills from your sociology degree to make you an attractive job candidate. Registration required. Savery Hall 409, Thursday, 15 November, 3:30pm-4:15pm.
- Internship Search for Transfer Students. This session, tailored for transfer students, will cover things like why internships can be valuable, how to find them, and how do you apply. Registration Required. Online, Friday, 16 November, 10:30am-11:30am.
