Good morning, my fellow Sociologists! I hope you’re having a pleasant start to this shortened Week 3 – and I certainly hope you had time to reflect on the power of compassion, service, and understanding yesterday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s memory!
The weather can’t seem to make up it’s mind (raining? sunny? frigid? warm?), but we here in Advising can at least help keep your academic forecast far more predictable (and sunny)! This is your weekly reminder of events, deadlines, and resources to help you along as Winter Quarter begins to get busier. Here are a few things we’d like to highlight for this week:
- New Major Orientation. For all the brand new sociologists joining our ranks this quarter, we will host New Major Orientation tomorrow, 23 January, at 3:30pm, in Savery 409.
- Study Skills Workshops. The Academic Support Programs office is offering a series of workshops designed to improve your study skills, including time management, interacting with professors, and exam anxiety. For more info, see the workshops’ website or stay tuned for our post about them later this afternoon.
That’s all for now, but make sure to check back here as we will continue to post announcements throughout the week. Stay warm and dry this week!
