The application for the Gilman Scholarship for undergraduate study abroad is NOW OPEN for students participating in programs starting in summer, early fall, and fall 2019. The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is a grant program that enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, especially students with disabilities, veterans, and non-traditional college students.
Students can receive up to $5,000, In addition, students formally studying any of the critical need-languages listed on its website are eligible for an additional grant of up to $3,000.
- Students must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant through the Office of Student Financial Aid to be eligible.
- Programs must be at least 21 consecutive days in length in a single country.
