After a week of full-bloom cherry blossoms and lovely weather, it looks like we’ve settled into a rainy April after all!
As you get settled into your classes and start getting back into the habits and rhythms of the quarter, we in Advising are always here to keep you up to date on opportunities and deadlines that are relevant for our majors. Here’s a quick preview of what’s going on this week:
- Student Tax Classes. If you have not yet filed your taxes and need some help, this week are the last two tax classes being offered by Student Fiscal Services: the US Resident Student class (Wed, 10 April, 11:30am-12:30am) and the International Students class (Tues, 09 April, 2pm-3pm). For more information, see last week’s blog post about the classes – both are free of charge and you do not have to register in advance.
- Deadline for Graduating Senior Priority for Summer 2019 – Wednesday, 10 April 2019. Planning to graduate in either Summer or Autumn 2019? Apply to graduate by 10 April and receive Graduating Senior Priority to register for classes on the first day of registration for your last two quarters.
- Time Management Workshop. As we mentioned last week, Academic Support Programs is offering a series of study skills workshops this quarter. First up, on Wednesday, 10 April, join ASP and learn about time management and work planning techniques that will help you be successful at the UW and in your career! Be sure to register here to reserve your seat.
- Finding a Job When You Don’t Have Experience – Small Group Coaching. On Wednesday, 10 April, Career Coach Caitlin Goldbaum will be leading a small group coaching session to help students explore strategies to use on the job hunt when you have limited experience. If you’re interested, stay tuned for an additional blog post this afternoon – and make sure you register in advance!
That’s it for now. Good luck with this week – and try to stay dry!
