Good morning, dear majors, and welcome to Week 6 of the quarter. The weather has finally started to turn more consistently pleasant – but we do live in Seattle, so you really never know when the clouds might come back!
Here’s a few things you should all have on your radar this week:
Rome Study Abroad – Info Session. Every year, the Sociology Department hosts a study abroad program in Italy, which provides students with the opportunity to explore the issues facing contemporary Italian society using a sociological approach to history and the economy. We posted about the program last week, and if you’re interested in learning more, come to the info session on Wednesday, 08 May, at 11:30am in Savery 409.
Small-Group Career Coaching. A&S Career Coach Caitlin Goldbaum will be leading 2 small-group career coaching sessions this week – one about finding a job without experience, and one covering networking practices for those who hate networking. We previewed them in last week’s Career Center preview – stay tuned for more information later this afternoon.
Career Launch. The Career Center has a great program called Career Launch for students who want to get started on career planning, but need a little help first figuring out what kind of career they want to build. They will be hosting a Career Launch this week on Thursday, 09 May. For more information, we’ll have another blog post about the program tomorrow – or you can check out the event page.
Graduating Senior Priority. If you plan to graduate in Summer or Fall, make sure you apply to graduate so you can be eligible for Graduating Senior Priority (first day registration) to register in your next 2 quarters. The deadline to apply for GSP is Wednesday, 08 May 2019.
And, of course, if you ever need us, we in the Advising Office are always here to help!
