As you’re settling in and starting the academic new year, we wanted to take a moment and welcome our beloved Sociology students back to campus and back to Savery Hall – and, of course, back to the Sociology Department’s blog!

This is the place to come if you’re interested in internships, research projects, scholarships, study abroad, career opportunities and more. The Sociology Advising Staff, who run this blog, are always here to help you navigate your way through our program. Our fabulous academic counselors can assist you with anything from course selection and career planning to registration, graduation applications, or other paperwork. If you have questions or would like to make an appointment, call (206) 543-5396 or email Katy at asksoc@uw.edu.

The Advising Office also includes the Writing Center, where you can get help writing papers for your sociology classes: brainstorming a topic, constructing your thesis statement, organizing your argument, and much more. Our new Writing Center Instructor, Lindsey Beach, can help produce your best written work!

Everyone in the Sociology Advising Office is here to answer your questions, clarify any confusion, and help you make the most of everything our department has to offer. As you continue to plan your fall quarter, keep to following important dates in mind:

And, of course, make sure you find your way back to our blog for updates, opportunities, and all the info you could want about Sociology at the University of Washington!
