Truman Scholarship: Juniors…Do you have an issue that drives you to learn, volunteer, advocate, teach and lead? Apply for the Truman Scholarship! The Truman Scholarship is looking to support future change-makers. Students interested in and dedicated to issues like social justice, climate-action, fiscal policy, education, social welfare, law, population health, politics (any), and more should apply for this $30,000 leadership scholarship toward graduate education. The scholarship is open to U.S. citizen undergraduates who are graduating between December 2020 and August 2021. Contact Emily Smith if you’re interested in applying. Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New AmericansThis scholarship is designed for immigrants or the children of immigrants (including, but not limited to, current and past DACA recipients, asylees, refugees and green card holders), who are not yet 30 and planning to pursue graduate school in the United States. The award provides up to $25,000 in stipend support and 50% of the required tuition and fees (up to $20,000 per year) for one to two years. Act fast – the deadline to apply is November 1, 2019 by 2:00 pm Eastern-Standard Time.

Yenching Academy: A funded graduate degree program at Peking University in China. The program is open to students in all fields. Experiential Opportunities

Carnegie Endowment Junior Fellowship: An opportunity for a one-year paid research assistant position at this Washington D.C. think tank researching international affairs-related topics. Public Policy and International Affairs ProgramJuniors from underrepresented backgrounds who are interested in pursuing a career in public service should apply for this program! The PPIA Junior Summer Institute provides rigorous academic preparation, at the graduate level, focusing on people who want to pursue a future in public service. The scholarship covers the expenses of participation and the deadline (November 1, 2019) is coming up!

Critical Language Scholarships: A summer study abroad opportunity for American college and university students to learn languages essential to America’s engagement with the world. Boren Scholarships & Fellowships: Fund undergraduates and graduate students to study languages abroad in world regions critical to US interests. There is an information session on Wednesday, October 30 at 4:00pm, both in Mary Gates Hall, Room 171 or online. Udall Undergraduate Scholarship: This scholarship is designed for sophomores and juniors engaged in leadership, public service, and committed issues related to Native American nations or the environment. The award amount is $7,000 and applications are due December 16, 2019.
