Interdisciplinary Journal of Narrative Medicine at UW: Writing and art in times of COVID-19

A message from the students at Capillaries…

Capillaries is a student-run journal at UW focused on medical humanities. The journal is a place for students of all majors and backgrounds to write and create works of art about their experiences with health, illness, and healing. We publish a journal each quarter, and in past editions, we have shared stories of love and loss, of coming to terms with one’s identity, and of understanding what it means to be a global citizen in the 21st century.

We at Capillaries: The Journal of Narrative Medicine believe that writing and art have real power now more than ever, to help us unpack our thoughts. Thus, we offer our journal to you as a space to decompress and reflect on personal, community, national, and global issues. The goal is to provide a space for all undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and general UW community members to reflect and engage in dialogue on stories that might otherwise go unheard.

Submissions are due on February 7th @ 11:59 PM:
